14th Science Policy Conference

The 14th annual Canadian Science Policy Conference (CSPC) will be held from November 16th to 18th, 2022 in-person this year for the first time in two years.

The COVID-19 pandemic has transformed in an unprecedented manner the way we think in our economies and societies. The conference under the overarching theme: Navigating Uncertainty; Targeting Sustainability will be focused on most pressing issues of science and innovation and their crucial role in building a more inclusive, greener, and more resilient society.

Based on the success of our previous annual conferences, CSPC 2022 expects more 1000 participants, and 300+ speakers, in 50 panel sessions and will include a spectacular Gala dinner featuring its award ceremony which has become a signature annual event to celebrate Canadian science and innovation policy achievements.

Briefly, CSPC 2022 will feature:

  • 1000+ attendees, 300+ speakers, 50+ panel sessions
  • Spectacular Gala Dinner at the Trillium Ballroom of Shaw Centre well attended by leaders of various sectors, as well as ambassadors, and parliamentarians
  • Award Ceremony celebrating Excellence in Science Policy
  • Interview Series with prominent figures of science and innovation policy community
  • Publishing of the 4th issue of Science Policy Magazine
  • An exhibit hall

The proceedings of the conference, which include key messages, videos, and/or audio recordings of all panels, will be distributed to decision-makers and influential individuals across the country. The recording will also be available to the public on the CSPC website for free. In addition, a professional group of writers will capture the takeaway messages of all sessions and will be provided to all delegates and the public later.

CSPC 2022 will bring together key stakeholders from the science and innovation communities—across various regions, sectors, and generations—to collectively discuss current emerging issues and how science, innovation, society, and public policy can play a role in the path towards sustainability.

The forum is a community builder to strengthen the linkages among various regions, sectors, disciplines, generations, and a vector of change – change required and possible in this period of recovery from covid-19 which has shown us that multi-sector cooperation is essential to address the most pressing current societal challenges.
